Redlands CA Homes

The real estate market in Redlands contains a good mix of historical Victorian and Craftsman homes as well as modern new houses. The median sales price for a home in Redlands is $245,000. Listing prices range, however, from the mid $100,000s to over $1 million.

Redlands is known for its impressive historic structures that include the A.K. Smiley Public Library, built in 1898; the Redlands Bowl, and the Lincoln Shrine. A historic house tour will take you past the Morey Mansion – an immaculately restored Victorian house set on the bluff overlooking San Timoteo Canyon; and The Kimberly Crest House and Gardens, previously featured on the series "America's Castles" and named after Kimberly-Clark family.

The town of Redland supports 14 public parks featuring a variety of sports facilities, trails and open green space. The 120-acre Redlands Sports Park offers soccer and softball fields, picnic facilities, and playgrounds. Smiley Park is home to the library, the Lincoln Memorial shrine and the Redlands Bowl, an outdoor amphitheater famous for its outdoor summer concerts.

Part of the Redlands Unified School District, the city has a number of excellent private and public schools, including the new Redlands Citrus Valley High School which will be opening in the Fall of 2009. Sources of higher education include the Crafton Hills College, the Community Christian College, and the University of Redlands, a liberal arts and science university, occupying 160 acres near downtown Redlands.
